Honouring National Indigenous History Month & National Indigenous Peoples Day

Share

June is National Indigenous History Month.  This is a time to honour the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada. At Unifor Local 531, we recognize that our strength lies in our diversity, and we are proud to stand in solidarity with our Indigenous members.

As well, June 21 marks National Indigenous Peoples Day, coinciding with the summer solstice, a day of spiritual significance for many Indigenous communities. It's a day to celebrate Indigenous cultures, traditions, and achievements.

We encourage all members to take this opportunity to deepen their understanding of Indigenous histories and contemporary issues.
