June marks Pride Month; a time to honour the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, reflect on the progress made, and recommit ourselves to building a future where everyone can live authentically and safely.
At Unifor Local 531, we believe that diversity is our strength. The many identities, stories, and lived experiences of our members make our union brighter, stronger, and more united. We don’t just celebrate Pride in June; we celebrate and protect the right to be yourself every day of the year.
Pride is also a protest. In a time when hate and discrimination are being amplified by bigots and bullies — in our communities, in politics, and online — it is more important than ever to raise our voices louder than theirs. We must never allow fear or prejudice to silence the power of love, identity, and solidarity.

This Pride Month, we stand with our 2SLGBTQIA+ members, not only in celebration, but in action. Whether it’s challenging injustice, showing up for one another, or creating inclusive spaces at work, our union is committed to being a place where everyone belongs, without exception.
