We respectfully acknowledge that members of Unifor Local 531 live, work, learn, and gather on the traditional and unceded territories of many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Turtle Island.
In Vancouver, we recognize the ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
In Calgary, we acknowledge the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy), including the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations, as well as the Tsuut’ina and Îyâxe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda) Nations.
In Toronto, we are situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Wendat, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
We also recognize the many Indigenous nations and communities across the surrounding areas where our members live and work, and the lands we travel across from coast to coast to coast, as well as the countries we travel to around the world.
Canada is home to a rich tapestry of Indigenous cultures, each with its own language, traditions, and history. We recognize the enduring relationship between Indigenous peoples and their traditional lands. We honour their stewardship and leadership, past, present, and future.
As members of Unifor Local 531, we commit to building respectful and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities—grounded in truth, reconciliation, and mutual understanding.
