The union is committed to advocating for and supporting our members, and part of that responsibility includes proactively addressing workplace concerns before they escalate into investigative meetings with the company. We want to bring awareness to some key trends across all bases and encourage best practices to ensure successful employment.
Reliability – Avoiding Late Swipes
Timely attendance is crucial. Consistently swiping in late will lead to reliability investigations, which may result in disciplinary action taken by the company. Please ensure you are arriving on time and allowing for any potential delays.
Proper Use of Employee Travel Benefits
Employee travel privileges are a valuable benefit, but misuse—such as unauthorized changes, upgrades, or fee waivers—can lead to disciplinary actions, including suspension of access to these benefits of up to one year or termination depending on the severity. Members should always follow company guidelines when utilizing travel privileges to avoid any violations.
PNR Handling & Fee Collection
Ensuring accuracy when managing PNRs is essential. Mishandling PNRs, neglecting proper documentation, or failing to collect required fees can have operational consequences. Members should take extra care in following the correct procedures to maintain compliance. Should you have a personal connection with a guest traveling it is advised that you allow a peer to support the check in or assistance to them. Mishandling of PNRs with personal connection to the traveler is an increasing trend as well, and a violation of company policy.
By working together and staying informed, we can help protect workplace integrity and ensure positive experiences for all members.
